Having secured funding this local site has benefited from some considerable conservation and additional improvements. These include a learning and community centre, a shop, a venue for functionsand events in the 16th century barn and better parking facilities.
It is hoped the site will become a top heritage attraction and that visitor numbers will increase from the current 8000 to 40,000 a year within the next five years.
Basing House reopens to the public at the end of the summer.
