Taylor's Farm Road Change Application Refused
Following strong local protests, planning officers at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have refused an application from Croudace to delete the "northern by-pass" from the Taylor's Farm development.
The said by-pass was always intended as a way of helping relieve the residential areas in Chineham and Taylor's Farm from unreasonable volumes of traffic.

Not surprisingly Croudace are somewhat grieved over this decision (probably having first been given indications of support from the borough) and are now busily lobbying Taylor's Farm residents to support their proposals for a meandering route, right past people's doors

It is being suggested that a less direct route from the business parks to the A33 will deter motorists from using the route (never having encountered sat nav systems) and that they would instead prefer a half hour wait to exit via Crockford Lane or continue to travel in even greater volumes through Chineham until all of Chineham's routes become gridlocked.
Not perhaps the best idea!.
