Taylors Farm Out of Bounds
Until now, the progress of development at Taylor's Farm has had only negligible impact upon Chineham. That situation is now beginning to change with issues such as arguments over the planned Hanmore Road to A33 link and the pedestrian link through Petty's Copse (now an unplanned reality because of lack of diligence and action on the part of the borough council).
The latest hot potato is the planning application by Croudace which would mean that a row of houses would virtually swallow up the landscape barrier intentionally introduced and expected to remain following construction of houses at the northern end of Thyme Close and Fennel Close.
With some justice, Croudace is claiming that a number of residents had anyway encroached onto this bund and had in some cases dumped waste in the area. Accepting that this might be so, it does not give Croudace the moral authority to unilaterally enclose and then sell off what is currently a valuable wildlife corridor between The Larches and Petty's Copse. Chineham Parish Council welcomes the fact that Croudace have now agreed to a meeting with a view to seeking a constructive resolution of this issue.
