Tesco Rubbish

Our caring, mega-rich, local supermarket, Tesco, is still failing to find either the resources or the will to restrain the massive pollution of the surroundings of the Chineham Shopping Centre by plastic bags originating from their store.

The shopping trolley saga also drags on with Chineham seemingly being the only site in Basingstoke and Deane where a large supermarket is failing to constrain trolleys from extensively polluting the  neighbourhood.  Yet more promises have recently been made about installing a brake system, but time will tell.

Spotlight believes that the only effective means of achieving lasting results is to hit Tesco where they understand; in the pocket.  New government legislation seemingly offers a better opportunity to charge
establishments failing to satisfactorily control trolley escapes, although Spotlight believes these sanctions are still not severe enough.
